I forget the name. Very intriguing, but I quickly walked past them. Sometimes I actually get the feeling that Lowe's does choose plants that might do well here. I wish I were more confident about that though. When I was there the other day, I actually pulled up HelpMeFind on my smart phone (which is fairly new to me) to check out the varieties that were there, but my typing wouldn't work and the glare on my phone was impossible. I'll have to see about that.sherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7928880599026491390.post-51384745023835032332013-01-13T08:12:45.829-08:002013-01-13T08:12:45.829-08:00Yes, that's my front yard. One day you'll be able to see pink roses behind the white ones of Clotilde Soupert.sherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7928880599026491390.post-30454075941521921492013-01-13T08:06:23.713-08:002013-01-13T08:06:23.713-08:00Oh, yes, White Licorice was at this store, too. Haven't seen any yet, but I hope/wish they "sterilize" the plants before they ship them out. Is that a vain hope? Also, the strange thing about the "I have no room theory" is that it's so OFTEN proven wrong.sherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7928880599026491390.post-52453706746368558712013-01-13T07:13:17.166-08:002013-01-13T07:13:17.166-08:00Buying roses from the big box stores here in Alaba...Buying roses from the big box stores here in Alabama is hit and miss too. I did see quite a number of Week's varieties this past summer at one of our Lowe's locations. Maybe, just maybe they are catching on to what we already know; people want healthy roses!.... I have no idea why they can't have a few of each instead or 15 of one kind. Yeah, I know the whole "I have no more room" theory, but I have proven it false time after time. They had White Lightnin' and Moonstone, but I wasn't confident of their healthiness so I passed. I love finding cheap treasures, but I have no room. So I'll keep checking Lowe's. hehesherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7928880599026491390.post-77304159001229562322013-01-11T15:35:02.135-08:002013-01-11T15:35:02.135-08:00I have two comments Sherry. I gets periodic blackspot cycles, but always grows new healthy dark green leaves.

My second comment is on Lowes. The $7 roses started comming in several weeks ago. The first time I noticed them I grabbed an Orchid Romance rose before another lady could. She had 10 or so roses in her cart. They had unlabeld Burgundy Icebergs and Peach Drifts. After that I obsessively checked my local Lowes for new shipments. Sometimes they have labels and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they get like 20 of the same boring roses and sometimes they get a nice variety. I am ashamed to say I figured out, by observation, that deliveries to all the Lowes stores in my county are on Thursdays and they always come from Dewars nursery. My prize rose purchases this season from Lowes are: Grande Dame, Orchid Romance, Ebb Tide, Ch-Ching, Dick Clark (on clearance for 3.50), and Julia Child (on clearance for 3.50.) Also I have seen, all three Icebergs, Hot Cocoa, Cinco De Mayo, Soaring Spirits, New Zeland, Colorific, Double Delight, Cherry Parfait, Walking on Sunshine, Black Cherry, Gemini and some others I don't remember. So yeah, I'm crazy :) Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02302360499719675696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7928880599026491390.post-15325884159028107942013-01-11T06:29:15.671-08:002013-01-11T06:29:15.671-08:00Sarah, I agree with you.
