New things

IMG_9562
These new little birdies were Christmas gifts from my dear daughter-in-law.

I can't get over how perfectly they go with my mismatched birdbath.

The beds are stuffed with plants so I put it in the crossroad.

Leaves, leaves, and more leaves! Not exactly new, but they were a new sight the next morning.

I got lots of of my favorite seeds.
Like I said...lots.

This new flat of Impatiens and two Coleus got planted last Saturday in the back shade bed.

New Purple Coneflower seedlings. Sprinkling those coneheads paid off. I walk through the garden crouched over in order to spy every new little sprout.

The driveway bed has exploded with new coneflower seedlings. I had lots of empty space around 'Mme Antoine Rebe', but not anymore. Oh, new horse manure compost, too.

New buds. 'Souvenir de St Anne's'

New Larkspur

A veritable forest of new Larkspur volunteers

New Purple Coneflower seedlings - in and out of the bed. Some have been moved to new locations in the garden.

New canes on 'Maman Cochet', Tea Rose
IMG_9551
Three years old is pretty new for a Tea Rose. 'Maman Cochet' has had a very open structure because she just doesn't add canes very fast. So I'm delighted to see all this new growth that will help fill her middle.

  5. What a sweet little bird bath and a sweet daughter in law too. I love bird baths! I have one my daughter and I made together and I just love it.

I also love purple cone flowers and have several. They don't reseed themselves as much as the black eyed susans do but still enough that I get new plants to move around the garden. My roses are starting to bloom here. So excited to see roses again! Look forward to seeing yours too! Happy Gardening Sherry!
